Where does all the water go?

When you flush the toilet, pour water in your sink or empty the bath, the water obviously goes somewhere…..but do you know where and what happens to it?

Last week the Loving our Lake team sent out copies of ‘Looking after your septic tank: A guide and logbook for householders’ to 220 properties with registered septic tanks around Llyn Padarn.

The guide contains lots of useful information to help householders manage their septic tank system effectively to ensure that it doesn’t pose a health risk for them, their family or their neighbours.

Poorly managed septic tanks are a potential source of pollution into lakes, rivers and streams. The Loving our Lake team are asking householders to read the guide and take special care of their septic tank to help ensure that Llyn Padarn stays sparkling and clear in the future.

This is the first time the guide has been sent out and we are asking recipients to complete a questionnaire to tell us what they think of it. The responses will be used to edit and refine the guide before it is distributed to other areas in Wales.
